Backup Video files to CD/DVD Disks [DVR FLEX4/8/16]

[This note applies to all ICR Flex series DVRs]

Either the built-in CD/DVD burner or an external CD/DVD burner can be used for video backup. If you use the built-in CD/DVD burner, skip to Step 2 directly. Here we are detailing the steps using the front panel buttons. Using a mouse will be much easier in maneuver through all the menu items.

Note: In the picture, the number represents the step number in the walkthrough.

Step 1: Connect the external CD/DVD burner to one of DVR’s two USB ports (Front or back). CD/DVD burners certified by ICR include: Sony DRU810U and Sony DRU820U.  Turn on the power of the CD/DVD burner.

Step 2: Insert a blank CD/DVD disk.

Step 3: Login to the DVR as administrator. Press “Enter” Key for the password prompt. The default username/password is “888888/888888”.

Step 4: Select “ARCHIVE” then “BACKUP FILES”

Step 5: Verify the system has detected the blank disk correctly. Look at the bottom line, “Space Remained” shall be 702M for CD or 4.03G for DVD.

Step 6: Select the “Type”, “Channel”, and fill in the “Start Time” and “End Time”. Select “Add”. Video clips meet the criteria will be displayed. You can check/uncheck to include/exclude the file for the backup.

Step 7: Repeat Step 6 to add video clips from other channels. Watch for that “Space Required” not to exceed “Space Remained”.

Step 8: Select “Backup” to start the backup process.
